Odense

Odense is Funen’s largest city with more than 200.000 inhabitants. With more than 1000 years of history, Odense offers narrow, atmospheric medieval alleys, an impressive Gothic Cathedral and a charming historic quarter with half-timbered houses and holly hocks, but at the same time, Odense is a modern city with lots of culture, delicious restaurants and trendy stores. Especially Brandt’s – the Latin quarter – is a favourite spot with the locals and the area surrounding Nørregade is becoming a hot spot as well.

Odense has many beautiful, green spots. Odense River is a particularly important gathering place for the locals while Stige Island, a larger recreational area, is becoming increasingly popular. From Stige Island you have a fantastic view of Odense Fiord.

Right now, Odense is going through a transformation and new, interesting places turn up all the time. Our path bridge, that connects the city centre to the harbour, the harbour bath and Byens Ø (City’s Island) are some of the visible objects already in use. Our new concert hall Odeon just opened and soon people will start to move into the newly built apartments in the city centre bringing even more life to the party.
